As the market competition for implant dentistry increases, so does the patients’ demands and expectations. Immediate implant placement has always been in demand in clinical implantology. As for the patients’ perspective, it will shorten the duration of treatment and the number of surgeries. As for the clinicians’ perspective, it increases the likelihood of case acceptance by the patient, minimizes chances of buyers remorse and resultant contract cancellation, and lowers the operations’ overhead by reducing the chair time. However, immediate implant placement is not without challenges and limitations. In this discussion, several common challenges and solutions will be presented.
